The Columbus Blue Jackets are a professional ice hockey team based in Columbus, Ohio. They compete in the National Hockey League as a member of the Metropolitan Division in the Eastern Conference. The Blue Jackets began play as an expansion team in 2000.
This series was a season-long social media campaign by the Columbus Blue Jackets to highlight each home-game matchup throughout the season – each poster unique to that night's opponent. I saw it as a different way to reach a different audience at that time that may not have been so invested or interested in hockey.
Having appeared everywhere from ESPN to Sportsnet, the series was able to bring an increased level of attention to the Blue Jackets as a rising contender in the NHL and one of the top social media teams in the NHL.
