The Washington Football Team is a professional American football team based in the Washington metropolitan area. The team competes in the National Football League as a member club of the NFC East division.
A social media campaign by the Washington Football Team featuring a different member of the team, inspired by the sports-themed posters the Costacos Brothers popularized during the 1980s and ’90s, with the designs highlighting the player’s nickname.

On November 18, 2018, Smith suffered a spiral and compound fracture to his tibia and fibula in his right leg when he was sacked during a game against the Houston Texans. Despite the severity of the injury which many thought he would never come back from, Smith returned to action in 2020 in a game against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 5.
This illustration accompanied the team's official press releases when Alex Smith was activated from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list. Following the season, Smith's contributions earned him the NFL Comeback Player of the Year award.
